Did you know that Pensacola is the birthplace of the North American Olive?
Yeah, me neither.
Such a fitting location, though, for the culinary adventure that is The Bodacious Olive in Downtown Pensacola, Florida.
We are here visiting my husband’s mother, who also loves to cook and we spent the better part of the morning at The Bodacious Olive, tasting imported artisanal olive oil and infused balsamic vinegar.
Like Vermont Maple balsamic vinegar.
And Blood Orange infused olive oil.
I’m dying. No- I’m in Heaven.
Because not only is The Bodacious Olive a fabulous little market, they have an adorable kitchen supply shop upstairs and a Food Network style demonstration kitchen where they hold cooking classes.
Don’t you think they need a foodie like me?
Since my return to PA is probably inevitable, I ordered a few goodies to hold me over until
I send them my resume my next visit. Well, more than a few…I actually have SEVEN bottles of oils and vinegar coming my way.
And, let me tell you, it was no easy decision.
Here’s what I ended up picking:
Alfoos Mango White Balsamic
Sicilian Lemon Balsamic
Vermont Maple Balsamic
Tuscan Herb Olive Oil
Butter Olive Oil
Lemon Fruit Olive Oil
I cannot wait to start cooking! I’m already dreaming about healthy pancake muffins with Butter Olive Oil and Maple Balsamic…Blueberry Balsamic syrup reduction over frozen Greek yogurt…white pizza with Tuscan Herb Olive Oil…shrimp and avocado salad with a Lemon vinaigrette dressing…
Oh, sorry, are you still there?
Anyway, stay tuned for recipe ideas and, in the meantime, check out The Bodacious Olive’s online shop and have fun playing gourmet chef!
