Ingredients

  • 3-6 lbs organic apples roughly chopped away from the core; peeling is optional!
  • 1/3 cup water

Instructions

  • Add apples and water to the Instant Pot.  Cook for 5 minutes on high pressure using the manual or pressure cooker setting (it depends on the model of your IP, but these buttons do the same thing)
  • After cooktime, let your pot manually release for ten minutes before releasing the rest of the pressure. Your pot will read L0:10 when the time is up. Then move the steam release valve to venting to release the rest of the steam. Allow the sauce to cool a bit before moving on to the final step.
  • Strain the excess water out of the pot (I try to catch it in a bowl in case I want to add any back in) and either mash with a potato masher (if you peeled your apples) or use an immersion blender to blend the peels into your applesauce. If you don't have an immersion blender, you can use a regular blender!
  • Let cool and enjoy.
