Searching for Safer Cookware? I get asked all the time about what cookware I use in my kitchen, so here are two brands of safer pots and pans that I love and use every day. This post contains affiliate links for products I’m obsessed with.
A year ago I ditched all the cookware in my in my possession…even my super cute set from Walmart with the pretty butterflies on the handle. I had already been cooking clean for years, but I finally started to pay attention to the actual pans I was cooking in…and it wasn’t pretty. So I decided to clean house and start over with safer cookware options.
The Search for Safer, Non-Toxic Cookware
I knew I wanted to find safer options, but I didn’t realize the rabbit hole I would fall down while researching what to buy and how difficult it would be to find what I was looking for. So often brands would have some of what I was looking for, but not all, but I wasn’t going to buy anything until I found exactly what I wanted.
My Safer Cookware list of musts haves:
- no Teflon, PTFE, or PFOA
- no lead or cadmium
- even heating
- oven safe up to high temps
- stay cool handles
- pretty for photos 😄
No. Easy. Feat.
But I persevered and have found several cookware lines that I am obsessed with, and that fit all of the requirements in my list of musts. And since this is a question I get a LOT, I thought I would share my favorite Safer Cookware Brands!
My Favorite Safer Cookware
Daterra Cucina- Safer Non-Stick Pot and Pans
Most nonstick cookware contains carcinogens that can flake off into your food, but Daterra Cucina’s line of nonstick cookware changes all of that. I’ve been using Daterra Cucina pans for over a year. I have almost the whole line now, which includes several different size pots and pans, and even a new lasagna pan! Last year, their 11 inch Pan was on my Holiday Gift Guide. This year, I am including their brand new 13 inch Wok which is AMAZING.
Some of my favorite features of the Daterra Cucina line:
- it has a professional-grade, non-stick, non-toxic, scratch-resistant Italian ceramic coating with none of the bad stuff
- oven safe up to 450 degrees so I can get everything nice and crispy without transferring to a new pan
- the handle stays cool to the touch even after being in the oven (AMAZING)
- awesome, even cooking while also being lightweight
- made and designed in Italy
- several of the pots and pans have glass lids
- one year warranty!
Mealthy Stainless Steel Pan – Stainless Steel with a Cool Touch Handle
Mealthy is best known for it’s line of Pressure Cookers and it’s Crisp Lid, which allows any Pressure Cooker to turn into an Air Fryer. But they also have a whole line of other useful kitchen appliances, and an awesome stainless steel pan.
I love that stainless steel has absolutely no coating, making it a much safer option with nothing to flake off into your food. It also sears beautifully and even provides a nonstick-like cooking experience if it is properly heated and seasoned. I love making anything from eggs to steak in my Mealthy Stainless Steel pan!
Some of my favorite features of the Mealthy Stainless Steel Pan:
- it’s solid with an aluminum alloy core, while also somehow lightweight and easy to maneuver
- it’s oven and broiler safe
- the handle stays cool which is amazing – I have never had a stainless steel pan with a cool touch handle and I’ve been burned many times
- dishwasher safe
- heats up quick and heats evenly
- lifetime warranty!

I am hoping Mealthy comes out with additional stainless steel cookware, but for now they just have the pan. It’s a great size for all purpose uses! If you need a full set of pans, I highly recommend supplementing with Daterra’s collection.

I also am dealing with a one year nonstick pan. Have you thought about carbon steel pans? You season them like cast iron, for nonstick surface, but they are not so heavy. I’m really liking my 12″ and wok.
