These Healthy Air Fryer French Toast Sticks are so quick and easy to make even on your busy mornings. Or, I love to make a bunch, freeze, and just reheat to make mornings even easier! Perfect for the 21 Day Fix and Weight Watchers. No Air Fryer? I have oven instructions for you, too! This post contains affiliate links for products I’m obsessed with.
Guys. This is my daughter’s favorite use of the air fryer. Hands down.
French toast is one of my favorite breakfasts, but I have had a hard time getting either one of my kids to love it. They are down when it’s in cupcake form like my Cinnamon Bun French Toast Cups or my Fruit Topped Mini French Toast Casserole Cups but otherwise it’s usually not their thing.
Then my daughter and I spent a night at a Girl Scouts Camp this fall and they served straight-out-of-a-box frozen french toast sticks.
And my daughter freaking loved them.
She told my husband that Girl Scout camp has the best food. 🙄
Fast forward to black Friday when I ordered myself this little Phillips Airfryer and started Air Frying all the things…including French Toast.
One crispy bite and my pickier than picky daughter was in love.
And since my kiddos are my toughest critics, this was a major win for me. Well, half a win, because my son still won’t touch them.
These make the perfect quick and easy breakfast before school, or I love to meal prep a bunch of them and freeze them to reheat whenever we want something quick and yummy.
How to Make Air Fryer French Toast Sticks
It’s so easy!
First, line bottom of air fryer basket with parchment paper – this is super important, as it prevents sticking. Next, slice your bread into 4 equal sticks.
Then, mix egg, milk, maple syrup, vanilla and cinnamon together. Dip bread into egg mixture and coat well, but shake off the excess egg.
Place stick on parchment and spray with cooking oil spray. Don’t overcrowd them – you may need to do two batches if your Air Fryer is really small.
Set to 360 and cook for ten minutes, flipping halfway and removing the parchment paper for the second half of cooking. You may need a little more or a little less time depending on your desired crispiness. We liked ours very crispy!
Check out these video to see how easy it is:
Will these Air Fryer French Toast Sticks stick to the Air Fryer Basket?
I tested these without the parchment paper first, and yes, the egg did stick to the basket. So the parchment paper is key, plus it makes for an easy cleanup!
Can I freeze these Air Fryer French Toast Sticks?
Yes, you can totally freeze these French Toast Sticks! Just lay them flat on a baking sheet to cool, then pop the baking sheet in the freezer. When the french toast sticks are hard, place them in a freezer safe bag or container. To reheat, pop back in the Air Fryer for a minute or use your microwave. YUM!
I don’t have an Air Fryer. Can I make these Air Fryer French Toast Sticks in the Oven?
Yes! I included instructions for baking your french toast sticks.

I don’t even love French Toast but I love these sticks. They’re crispy, flavorful, easy, and versatile. I add fresh fruit to the top for extra deliciousness 🙃

Would it be two yellows for both pieces of bread (all 4 slices)? I thought it was one yellow per one slice of bread.
Rox says
I believe that is correct. The recipe is for 2 servings = 2 slices of bread. You only eat 1 serving which would = 1 slice of bread/1 yellow
Nancylynn says
Yes, exactly! Thank you!

Just tried this recipe this morning, and is it ever good. I really like how crunchy it came out. I also use gluten free bread. Thank you for the recipe. I will certainly be using it again.

What kind of GF bread do you like to use? I’m just new to GF and don’t know where to start with substitution products. This recipe looks yummy. Can’t wait to try it!

Hi Amy,
I found a great GF bread at Aldi at a reasonable price. I highly recommend toasting it and does not taste well if you do not. I used this on the stove for french toast ( did not toast before) and does turn out fine- cooking times different. I’m getting used to the Air Fryer.
Also, this bread does fall apart easier but overall, it is my go-to. I have learned over the years!
Thanks:)
