This Tiktok blender baked oats recipe is based on the viral recipe from last year. It definitely lives up to the hype with its smooth, cake-like texture and I love that it can be made in a variety of yummy ways! This easy and healthy breakfast recipe can also work as a dessert to satisfy that sweet tooth. A MUST try!
If you are a regular here, you know I love oatmeal recipes. I eat oatmeal everyday in various forms –easy baked oatmeal, oatmeal muffins, oatmeal breads, and overnight oats. I also make steel cut oats in my instant pot regularly. As someone who avoids gluten, I rely on daily oatmeal for fiber, and I am always looking for new ways to incorporate it into my diet.
This blended oats idea from the wildly viral recipe from Tiktok has been a favorite here and if you haven’t tried it, take this as your sign to do so immediately – it’s legit! The base recipe tastes like a healthy banana bread, but you can mix and match your favorite flavors.
Tip: don’t sleep on the chocolate version!
Why I love this recipe
- It’s customizable for the whole family – you can make different flavors of blended baked oats and use everyone’s favorite toppings.
- The smooth texture is perfect for picky eaters who don’t like regular baked oatmeal.
- There’s extra protein in these oats as compared to overnight oats.
- It’s gluten free, dairy free, and can also be vegan if you omit the egg.
- You can make a single serving or meal prep several for the week.
Recommended Equipment
It’s also helpful to have oven safe ramekins, a large muffin tin, or a loaf pan for your oats.
Ingredients
This recipe comes together with simple ingredients I always have on hand:
Rolled or old fashioned oats – you could swap in quick oats or even oat flour if you have it, but steel cut oats will not work for this recipe.
Very ripe bananas or unsweetened applesauce – I prefer using a very ripe banana in this recipe as it gives the oats a natural sweetness without adding tons of sugar, but it also works with applesauce. For fall flavored baked oats, you could sub pumpkin but you may need to increase the maple syrup.
Egg – I love adding egg to oats for extra protein. Omit for vegan baked oats or try flax egg.
Unsweetened almond milk – you can sub oat milk, flax milk, cashew milk, or your milk of choice.
Vanilla extract – for that cake like flavor.
Baking soda – to help the oats rise.
Pure maple syrup – for sweetness. You can experiment with more or less sweetener or use a different liquid sweetener of your choice.
Pinch of sea salt – for balance.
Cinnamon – love the flavor it gives to my oats.
Instructions

- Blend for 30 seconds until smooth.
- Pour the oat mixture into a the prepared ramekin, muffin tin, or baking dish.

Flavor Options for Blended Baked Oats
The base recipe for these TikTok oats has SO much potential for mix-ins and flavor variations! Here are some favorites:
Peanut Butter Banana Blender Baked Oats : add 1-2 tsp of peanut butter (or sub almond butter) to the center of the oats before baking.
Apple Cinnamon Blender Baked Oats: use applesauce instead of banana, increase cinnamon to ½ teaspoon, and top with chopped apples.
Strawberry Blender Baked Oats: use banana or applesauce and top with diced strawberries (sub with your fave fresh berries!)
Chocolate Cake Blender Baked Oats: use banana and add 1 Tablespoon of Cocoa Powder to the blender (can use up to 2 for more chocolate flavor). Top with a few dairy free chocolate chips before baking.
More ideas: these are all on my list to try!
- Blueberry Lemon – use applesauce and add in some lemon juice, lemon zest and top with fresh blueberries.
- Cinnamon Roll – increase cinnamon and top with diced apples and the coconut milk drizzle from my Cinnamon Bun French Toast Recipe.
- Carrot Cake – add in raisons, shredded carrots, and diced pineapple.
Meal Prep and Storage
To prep ahead: You can prep multiple servings baked oats for meal prep. I do prefer them when they are fresh from the oven, but they are still good through the week. Be sure to let your oats cool, then cover or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
To store: Be sure to let your oats cool, then cover or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
To freeze: You can make extra blender oats and then freeze for later. Place in a freezer safe container for up to 3 months.
To reheat: I use the microwave to reheat my oats. Reheat for 30 seconds, test and enjoy.

For someone who doesn’t love oatmeal, this was delicious! Tasted like banana bread, and my 4 year old kept stealing bites. I’d call it a win!

Loved this recipe. I have just made the basic one so far and it was sooo tasty! I usually don’t like things too sweet for breakfast, but after I ate half of the first one I added about 3 spoonful’s of blended cottage cheese (with vanilla & a bit of stevia) to the empty part of my ramekin. Gave me a bit more protein and made the last half sweeter! This will be on repeat for menu planning for sure!

Oh wow, Monica! What a great idea – thank you for sharing!
Brittany says
This was very meh/bland to me. is there anyway to make it sweeter? I added a few chocolate chips and that helped but the overall texture/taste was bleh.
HELP!
Nancylynn says
It sounds like you need a little sweetener drizzled on top! Or some peanut butter would be yummy too! Also, I prefer these fresh, not reheated so that could help the texture?
You may also just prefer something different like this one pan oatmeal that is a little sweeter! https://confessionsofafitfoodie.com/one-pan-baked-oatmeal/
Chelsea says
Just ok in my opinion. I baked it in my oven style air fryer so it was done in about 10 minutes. If I tried again I would bake in the regular oven. I did the peanut butter version and wished I had added chocolate chips. My banana was over ripe but 1 tsp maple syrup wasn’t enough.

Thank you for the feedback Chelsea!!
Stacey says
Is it possible to make this recipe in a large batch instead of individual containers?
Nancylynn says
Yes! Great question – I will add this to the recipe. But you can for sure cook it in one batch!
Margie says
I made these and had plenty to last all week! They are delicious 😋
